How many lessons will I need?

The number and length of lessons can vary from person to person and the type of fishing you want to do. For many freshwater situations you could have success after just a single one hour lessn. For more technical types of fly fishing like saltwater sight fishing, anglers will need multiple lessons combined with hours of practice in between to become proficient.

How much do fly casting lessons in Orlando cost?

Where do the fly fishing lessons take place?

Most lessons are held at a private park just north of the Orlando area with a casting pond and open space for casting.

Do I need my own fly rod and gear?

Beginners are welcome to use my equipment during lessons. If you already have your own fly rod, I recommend bringing it so you can practice with the gear you plan to fish with. If you do not currently own a rod, wait until after your casting lesson so we can discuss which rod will best suit your fishing needs.

Is fly fishing hard for beginners?

The basic fly fishing cast can be learned rather quickly. Mastering tight loops, distance, and developing and ability to cast at multiple anglers and during windy conditions can take much time an deidcation. Many see fly casting as a life long endeavour they are always seeking to improve similar to a golf swing.

Do you teach freshwater or saltwater fly fishing?

While we can discuss and practice specific fishing techniques, lessons usually focus on developing a solid fly casting foundation that can be used anywhere. All casting lessons are custom tailored to the individual and their specific fishing scenario.
